
Optometrist
Dr. Haivala obtained her undergraduate degree from USD in Vermillion and graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1991. She is originally from Mitchell and her husband, Bryan, is from Belle Fourche. They love mountain biking in the Black Hills, so they moved back to South Dakota in 1993, and she joined Dr. Richey’s practice. She practiced with Dr. Richey for 28 years and is now happy to have Dr’s. Robinson and Caudill join the team. Dr. Richey has officially retired and is traveling the country in an RV these days visiting grandchildren. Kathy and Bryan have three adult children, Jake, Sam and Sadie who all live too far away in Portland, OR. Dr. Haivala is a member of the American Optometric Association and is locally involved in the Zonta Club of Spearfish.

Optometrist
Dr. Robinson graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University in Oregon in 2012. He is originally from Sioux Falls. He practiced in Rapid City and Newcastle, WY prior to relocating to Spearfish. He enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking and spending time with his wife, Jen, and their young children Oliver and Elora. They are excited to be a part of the Spearfish community! Dr. Robinson is a member of the American Optometric Association and the SD Optometric Association.

Optometrist
A Spearfish native, Dr. Caudill earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2016 and has practiced locally since then. She is honored to care for patients in the community she has called home.
Dr. Caudill lives in Spearfish with her husband, Dr. Jess Moser, who is also an optometrist, and their two daughters. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, staying active through fitness and outdoor recreation, and taking advantage of all that western South Dakota has to offer.
Dr. Caudill is a member of VOSH International, the American Optometric Association, and the South Dakota Optometric Association.
